JB’s journey through music began with the 80’s and 90’s stuffs but he soon started to realize his addiction for the golden 70’s with its blend of soul, funk, disco, latin and jazz. This constitutes his solid roots deep inside, his foundations. Then came the momentum with the birth of house music, a genre that could encompass all what he loves: soulful, deep, classic, afro-latino, disco, funky, garage, techy just to name a few!
JB has held the decks in Paris, London, Alicante (Spain) and has settled in Singapore since more than 3 years now where he plays regularly in the most prominent venues (Velvet Underground, Winebar @Zouk, Stereolounge, Mimolette, La Maison, Tanjong Beach Club, The White Rabbit, OverEasy, Loof, Night and Day, B-Yond parties, , KPO, Hacienda, The Shack, Tippling Club, SupperClub, Balcony Bar, EmStudio, Tuckshop…). He’s also a regular host on the local internet radio Meshradio and on the house music specialized Lifted radio in the UK.
NOMSTA is synonymous with quality music in the scene. Starting his music career with independent record labels promoting the debut of Carl Cox and Ninja Tune in Asia. As a music promoter, NOMSTA organized the first nu jazz music events and festival in Singapore, promoting cutting edge music artistes from Europe alongside the locals as early as 2003.
NOMSTA has worked with Chicago house legend Roy Davis Jr., ex-Portishead DJ Andy Smith, Boca 45, Justin Harris of Freaks (Classic), Spiritual South & Mad Mats of Raw Fusion, dance-jazz maestros Zero dB and Frank de JoJo, Australia’s top ranking DJ Kid Kenobi and Strictly Rhythm vocalist Heather Wildman. In 2008, he formed a DJ-MC partnership with Sydneyside MC Shureshock. In 2009, NOMSTA made Singapore radio history as the first DJ to drop a set live on the airwaves of LUSH FM.
