MISO FLAMINGO (Debbie Chia)
Debbie was Asia’s first participant to the Red Bull Music Academy in Seattle 2005. It that she was there learnt to bring to the table a sound that is always true.
Her brand of House music, ranging from deep, tech, electro, minimal, west coast and soul has brought her to play in places like Seattle, Manila (NYE ’05), Melbourne, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and opening for international House maestros like Osunlade, Gene Ferris and Master H (NYE ’07) along the way.
Locally, Debbie has played at House, Pure (Ministry of Sound), Zouk, Phuture, Velvet Underground, EM Studio, Privé and Loof to name a few, outdoor festivals like Zouk Out and Good Vibrations, and broadcast on electronic radio station Lush 99.5 fm.
Debbie’s previous residencies include a monthly at House with Tempo-ra feat. The Wasa-beats, Boutique et. Pure, Ministry of Sound and What’s Your Poison? at Aurum, The Clinic, all co-organised with her music friends.
In 2008, Debbie founded the Miso Flamingo Girl DJ Bootcamp – an all-female DJ school, which is now into its second year. She is also one of the resident DJs on meshradio.sg, an underground internet radio movement.

But all these matter little to her. Debbie believes that the perfect mix is one that has both soul and intellect and nailing such a groove is what keeps her going.
